SKF (www.skfusa.com) has unveiled its latest series of servo actuators that deliver up to 100 percent duty cycle while allowing continuous operation.
The all-new SKF CASM Series servo actuators serve as the perfect electromechanical solution for applications that were previously performed by traditional pneumatic cylinders. Aside from reducing energy consumption, their technology can also effectively reduce potential contamination, maintenance and noise. It also eliminates the need for hoses, running compressors and other components related with pneumatic cylinders.
Available in three modular models — CASM-32, CASM-40 and CASM-63 — the servo actuators have been specifically designed to seamlessly fit standard footprints of pneumatic cylinders, while facilitating system conversion easily. They also come with motor adapter kits allowing users to connect their preferred motor package as well as easily program motor profiles.
Other key features of the CASM series include a sintered filter that compensates for the differences in pressure in the linear unit during movement, while a sealing system (wiping ring and flat seals) offers IP54S protection. Stroke lengths range between 50 mm and 800 mm, load capacities from 300N to 5400N while speeds range from 60 mm/s to 1060 mm/s, depending on the model.
Aside from the various mounting configurations offered, customers can also specify the ball screw or lead screw version of their choice.
The SKF CASM Series servo actuators are ideally suited for applications requiring precise and reliable repetitive motion such as packaging machinery, automation, semiconductor processing operations as well as food and beverage equipment.
