SKF will host its annual virtual Tech & Innovation Summit on June 18, bringing together industry representatives and technical experts to discuss technologies, products and solutions aimed at improving energy efficiency in industrial operations.
Under the theme “Closing the energy efficiency gap,” SKF will present application-specific solutions intended to improve energy efficiency, reliability and uptime in data centers, industrial electric motors, mining, pulp and paper, and digitally connected operations.
The summit will focus on practical approaches to energy efficiency challenges in industrial settings. The event will be held at the following times:
EMEA: 10 a.m. CET
India and Southeast Asia: 10 a.m. IST
Americas: 9 a.m. PT / noon ET
China and Northeast Asia: 2 p.m. CST
More information and registration are available at the SKF Tech & Innovation Summit 2026 website. A replay will be available on the website after the event.
Products and solutions showcased at the Tech & Innovation Summit include:
SKF Magnetic bearing solutions for data centre cooling
High-speed motors with magnetic bearing technology for centrifugal chillers support friction-free and oil-free operation, along with fast restarts after power interruptions. The motors are designed to improve energy efficiency and uptime in cooling systems, which can account for 30% to 40% of data center energy use, and offer noise reduction of up to 12 dB along with software-based monitoring and diagnostics.
SKF Hybrid ceramic bearings for Industrial electric motors
A new hybrid ceramic ball bearing is designed for IE4 and IE5 electric motors and helps prevent electrical erosion. Compared with standard steel bearings, it offers up to eight times longer grease life, lower friction and operating speeds up to 25% higher. The bearing is intended to support more energy-efficient motor designs in a compact footprint and is available globally.
SKF Condition monitoring – Aptitude Insight
A unified, scalable and cyber-secure platform available on premises, in the cloud or as SKF SaaS that connects operational and information technology environments. Aptitude Insight is designed to replace multiple point solutions with a single platform, using automated workflows to support diagnostics, edge analytics and AI-ready data insights.
SKF Circular solutions – Remanufacturing
Bearing remanufacturing restores products to their original geometrical specifications and operating performance while reducing energy use and carbon emissions by up to 90% compared with manufacturing new bearings. The process can shorten lead times, reduce material consumption and includes an SKF warranty and documented CO2 savings to support circular operation goals.
AI for the Pulp & Paper Industry — with SKF Product assistant
In the pulp and paper industry, quick access to technical information can help engineers and maintenance teams make decisions more efficiently. SKF’s AI-powered Product Assistant is designed to provide information about SKF products and applications when needed, helping users with questions, product selection and decision-making in demanding operating environments. This can support productivity, uptime and operational efficiency.
SKF’s Tech & Innovation Summit 2026 will highlight how the company is using technical expertise and digital tools to address energy efficiency and operational challenges.
