MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Phoenix Contact has added a Gigabit managed switch to its extensive line of Ethernet infrastructure products. The Smart Managed Compact Switch (SMCS) has eight ports capable of simultaneous Gigabit operation.
The SMCS is suitable for Profinet, EtherNet/IP and standard Ethernet applications. Two versions are available, one with eight twisted-pair ports, and another with six twisted-pair and two fiber ports.
The switch’s integrated Web server provides easy access to switch functions and settings. It can be configured using the Web browser, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) or a serial connection. Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) and fast ring redundancy allow fast recovery times in the event of a connection failure, and IGMP snooping and query capability meet EtherNet/IP requirements for multicast traffic.
Optional memory plugs enable saving switch configuration and Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP) Ring Manager. Other features include port statistics and diagnostics, broadcast/multicast limiter and port mirroring.
