Solar Power World Receives Bronze for Editorial Excellence as a New Publication

asbpeThe winners of the 34th Annual ASBPE Azbee Awards of Excellence have been announced, and Solar Power World is honored to be one of them. SPW received the Bronze Award for Editorial Excellence as a New Publication.

“We at Solar Power World are humbled by this award,” says Editorial Director Frank Andorka. “Receiving this award from our peers is an incredible honor and inspries our team to redouble its efforts to serve the solar industry with the passion and excellence our industry has come to expect from us.”

Founded in 1964, ASBPE is the professional association for full-time and freelance editors, writers, art directors and designers employed by business, trade and specialty press. ASBPE’s Azbee Awards of Excellence program is one of the most competitive for business-to-business, trade, association, and professional publications. The awards recognize outstanding work by magazines, newsletters, and digital media — Web sites, e-newsletters, digital magazines, and blogs.

“In today’s B2B industry, editors are expected to not only create a top-notch print product, but also update their Web site and social media platforms around the clock. Many editorial and online staffs are also expected to do more work with less resources,” says ASBPE National President Amy Florence Fischbach. “That’s one reason we enjoy recognizing the professionals who produce outstanding content on a day-in, day-out basis. The Azbee winners exemplify that high standard our industry sets.”

In 2012, in lieu of having a national conference, ASBPE has sponsored Boot Camp workshops in select cities nationwide. In addition, ASBPE’s chapters will present award ceremonies to recognize both the regional and national winners in their regions.

Winners are selected in about 60 categories. Five new feature categories have been added for the 2013 Azbee Awards of Excellence including solo author, group effort, short feature, in-depth feature, and impact/investigative feature. To view the full list of national winners, click here.
