Provertha, the Pforzheim, Germany, manufacturer of connectors and accessories, is extending its extensive range of M12 cable connectors with stainless steel (V4A) versions and X-Coding. The new male and female versions are specifically designed for the special requirements encountered in medical technology applications, and in the food industry. The new M12 connectors are also suitable for use in cleanroom environments in industrial and off-shore applications, when high data rates are needed.
Components and materials face stringent requirements with regard to their degree of protection, cleanliness, corrosion resistance and hygiene in devices, machines and systems used in the food and medical industries. When machines are cleaned, cleaning and disinfection solutions are often used that can cause corrosion. This also applies to off-shore environments with aggressive salt water. This is why stainless steel is primarily used as a material in such applications.
Provertha caters to these special requirements with its new M12 X-code connectors in stainless steel, while supporting high data rates. With their compact design, the new cable connectors afford protection in accordance with IP67 standards. They can be washed with standard detergents and are corrosion resistant.
The M12 X-coded VA4 devices are extremely compact and support the TIA-568 and ISO/IEC-11801 Cat6A specifications with up to 500 MHz, enabling 10 Gbps Ethernet systems. Using the new X-coded connectors with mating face according to IEC 61076-2-109, complete systems for high-speed data transmission can be built in the popular M12 format. All components (female and male) fulfill the needs according to Cat6A and are protected according IP67.
