Stratasys Ltd. unveiled the latest system in its family of multi-material enterprise PolyJet 3D printers. The J850 Pro 3D printer offers J8 series capabilities tailored specifically to engineering needs, without full color, at an affordable price. It enables engineers to produce prototypes for concept verification, design validation, and functional performance using the latest materials, including transparent VeroUltra Clear. The J850 Pro complements the existing J850 Prime for designers and engineers who also need full-color printing.
With its capacity for seven materials jetted simultaneously, fast printing, and high accuracy, the J850 Pro helps designers and engineers work faster and more productively. It includes rigid, flexible, and composite digital materials, enabling a range of functional applications, within a large 490 x 390 x 200mm build capacity. Concept models can be printed at twice the speed of legacy systems using Super High Speed Mode, and at approximately half the cost per part, using DraftGray material. The J850 Pro is software-upgradeable to the Prime version for full-color printing.
Typical applications well-served by the J850 Pro include accurate simulation of textures, product labeling, shock absorption, fit and functional testing, over-molding, living hinges, injection molds, embedded sealing elements, parting lines simulation, structural mechanics and integrity, and see-through elements such as transparent materials for light guiding applications and micro-fluidics uses. These needs are common in industries such as consumer products and electronics, automotive, medical devices, service bureaus, and the education market.
The seven simultaneous materials give engineers the versatility to produce parts that match their exact needs, instead of turning to multiple 3D printing or traditional technologies requiring extensive post-processing, saving time and costs. Materials include the entire grayscale space of the Vero rigid family, the Agilus30 family of flexible materials, VeroClear, VeroUltra Clear, and Digital ABS materials.
“The ability to easily create prototypes delivers great value to engineering teams in different stages of the development cycle,” said Ofer Libo, product manager for the J850 Pro. “In addition, the J850 Pro’s multi-material capabilities and large throughput enables them to test different designs, textures, and material properties to accelerate time to market and precisely deliver on user needs.”
The J850 Pro is immediately available, and orders are being taken now.
