Adaptability may become the next â€šÃ¢â‚¬Å“new thingâ€šÃ¢â‚¬Â of automation components and equipment. Leading the way is the XE-Robot, a multi-faceted robotic pad printing workstation adaptable to manufacturing and assembly applications as well as traditional product marking and decorating.
The four-axis SCARA (Selective Compliant Articulated Robot Arm) robot is programmed to select from six pads of different shapes and sizes, and pick up a variety of inked images from six clichÆ’Ã‚Â©s, each with its own ink cup. Further, the two-axis fixture assembly can print on five sides of the part, in multiple locations on each side.
Beyond pad printing, this machine can also be used for assembly and manufacturing applications, ideal for companies that want flexibility from their equipment investment.
The robot can be programmed to retrieve a pick-and-place hand, which can load and unload parts on the fixture between print cycles. Further, a tool can take the place of one of the pads, allowing the robot to perform drilling, screwing or assembling functions in addition to printing.
For medium to small appliance components, electronics enclosures, equipment housings, medical devices or other manufactured parts that have several print locations on multiple sides, the XE-Robot pad printing work station can be adapted and programmed for a multitude of applications.
The standard 150 x 300 mm clichÆ’Ã‚Â©s can be made smaller or larger, and can be changed while the machine is running. Additionally, the clichÆ’Ã‚Â© support platform can be removed and replaced with an entirely different cell system of manufacturing or assembly.
