INUS Technology, Inc., a leader in 3D scanning software, announced a strategic agreement with Basis Software, Inc., developer of the Surphaser line of top quality portable 3D scanners. This agreement enables Surphaser to globally distribute a complete reverse engineering system combining Surphaser mid- and long-range 3D scanners with Rapidform’s 3D scanning software.
Rapidform is a well-known name in the field of reverse engineering, inspection and scan data processing. The Surphaser line of 3D laser scanners can scan objects from 1 to 70+ meters away with sub-millimeter accuracy and can capture up to 1.2 million points per second. They are designed to be portable and adaptable to operate in industrial and outdoors environments.
“We feel the world market is definitely turning to accuracy now,” said Nick Zintchenko, Basis Software Vice-President. “By combining the accuracy of our systems with Rapidform’s ability to create CAD models of scanned objects, our customers in aerospace, automotive and facilities management can depend on their 3D scanning solution results with the best hardware and software combination.”
“By offering Rapidform software with Surphaser 3D scanners, we are providing integrated sales and support to our global customer base,” agreed Calvin Hur, CEO of INUS Technology. “Surphaser laser scanners are known for their accuracy and we have a number of customers already using these systems with Rapidform to do amazing things. This partnership provides a total solution for both reverse engineering and inspection applications.”
