For more than 65 years, Swagelok® products have provided the highest quality fluid system connections for high performance – helping process analyzers deliver reliable results to users around the world. Sampling systems expert Tony Waters and Swagelok have created a comprehensive reference covering the engineering involved with designing and operating a sampling system for a process analyzer.

Swagelok-Launches-Comprehensive-Sampling-Systems-Reference-Book

Exclusively available for purchase at Swagelok sales and service centers, Industrial Sampling Systems offers in-depth analytical instrumentation material suited for anyone from a novice to a degreed engineer (Figure 1). Along with recent innovations such as the Swagelok® Process Analyzer Sample System live training course, and the Swagelok® Pre-Engineered Subsystems product line, this reference fills a critical need for those who design, engineer, and maintain sample systems for on-line process analyzers.

Industrial Sampling Systems is a one-of-a-kind book for the industry that captures the experience and knowledge that Tony Waters has acquired over a career of more than 50 years. At a sneak preview of the reference book at the 58th annual ISA Analysis Division Symposium, Waters received rave reviews from among the 350 attendees, including leaders from across the industry:

[Industrial Sampling Systems] is a testament to Tony Water’s years of dedication to the Process Control Industry, said Phil Harris, Senior Scientific Consultant at HariTec. [This book is] a Herculean endeavor in capturing the knowledge acquired over decades of experience and clearly explaining the subject to both novice and experienced practitioners. There is no doubt that this book will be the industry reference for years to come.

Waters, who collaborated with Swagelok engineers and associates, created a compelling work that balances theory and practical examples, making it an ideal read for students as well as experienced engineers, designers, and technicians. The book also provides readers with a sampling of information featured in Swagelok’s intensive 40-hour complementary Process Analyzer Sampling System (PASS) training classes offered in several locations across the globe. To view the complete course brochure, upcoming classes or to enroll, please visit www.swagelok.com/passtraining.

Industrial Sampling Systems contains:

  • More than 750 pages of full-color technical content in a hardbound cover
  • Twelve chapters and three detailed appendices
  • A thorough index and easy-to-understand symbols library
  • More than 1,000 pictures, tables, and pieces of artwork
  • Worked Examples that illustrate calculations and how to apply equations
  • Numerous sidebars which explain basic scientific concepts, and Case Files, which show the practical application of concepts
  • Self-assessment questions within the chapters to ensure reader comprehension
  • A glossary of more than 1,000 terms and definitions

In addition, the book uses illustrations of a wide range of products used in sampling systems from more than 20 companies, and talks about conventional components as well as modular products and systems.

The book is only available in English and will be sold exclusively through Swagelok sales and service centers. Swagelok will showcase Industrial Sampling Systems amongst their featured products and services at the 2013 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas on May 6-9.
