SANTA CLARA, CA – Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today introduced new thermocouple power sensors that offer industry-leading dynamic range in average-power measurements. As an enhanced replacement for the Agilent 8480 Series, the new sensors cover a power range of -35 dBm to +20 dBm and span a frequency range of 100 kHz to 33 GHz (model dependent).

By extending the power range down to -35 dBm, the Agilent N8480 Series of thermocouple power sensors provides an industry-leading 55 dB dynamic range in a single sensor. Measurement speed and repeatability at low power levels have also been improved. Each member of the N8480 Series has been optimized for a specific frequency range, and all offer high measurement accuracy with excellent power linearity.

The Agilent N8480 Series incorporates a built-in EEPROM for storing calibration factors. This feature enables automatic loading of cal factors, reducing manual input errors and increasing productivity. An optional calibration-factor table (Option CFT) enables manual entry of cal factors, matching the performance and operation of Agilent’s 8480 family of sensors. Option CFT also provides SCPI-code compatibility with the 8480 Series.

Agilent is offering a 30-percent discount off any N8480 Series sensor with the trade-in of select 848X sensors. Details are available at www.agilent.com/find/N8480promo.
