Flying in a fighter jet isn’t an experience most of us will ever have. Personally, I’ve never had the urge, but for some, not being able to soar like Maverick is heartbreaking. Luckily for any wannabe pilots, Metropolis Entertainment — who make footage for simulators for places like this one which will show at London’s Science Museum — are more than willing to share the wealth.
This video was taken from inside the cockpit of an RAF Typhoon over the Lake District and Welsh Valleys.
But make sure your desk chair seatbelt is securely fastened because Flight Lieutenant Jamie Norris puts this plane through its paces on a low level training mission. It’s a pretty interesting video, you can see fellow fight jets and do some barrel rolls and banking exercises. Norris narrates the entire trip, so you have some idea of what’s going on and it feels like you’re sitting in the backseat.
I recommend putting this on full screen for the best experience.
