Thomas’ Twin-Head Miniature Diaphragm Pump

By Editor | November 14, 2013

Share

Using an innovative twin-head design, the Thomas Model 1420 miniature diaphragm pump achieves higher flows than conventional standard diaphragm pumps of the same physical size. The durable, oil-less Model 1420 pump is designed for
applications requiring high flow in an extremely compact package, especially in the medical, automotive and business
equipment markets. The pump measures 3.41 in. (86.6 mm) long, 1.16 in. (30.0 mm) wide and 2.96 in. (75.2 mm) high and
length from 2.71 in (68.9 mm) to 4.39 in (111.40 mm). The weight ranges from .418 lbs (190 g) to .683 lbs (310 g).

The pump’s heads can be channeled in either parallel or seriesto meet the flow and pressure/vacuum requirements of the application. Flow is rated at 6.0 to 11.0 lpm, when the heads are in parallel configuration, and up to 4.2 lpm in series configuration. The maximum pressure rating is 1.9 bar (27.5psi), and the maximum vacuum rating is 26.5 in. hg (900 mbar). The Model 1420 pump is available in both 12 and 24 Volt Brush or Brushless DC versions and incorporates long-life EPDM (ethylenepropylene rubber) diaphragms and valves.
