Tillman launches cut-resistant, high-visibility TrueFit gloves

By Michelle Froese | June 28, 2021

Tillman announced another highly critical product in its arsenal of PPE protection: the 1477 Mechanics-style, TrueFit gloves.

Tillman’s 1477 TrueFit gloves provide cut, abrasion, and puncture-resistance to ensure performance in environments where sharp materials and surfaces are present.

Tillman’s 1477s are a TrueFit design, meaning they’re slightly undersized to deliver the ideal, “true fit.” The new gloves offer comfort and protection, while allowing freedom in handling and performance.

“Sometimes, it’s about what doesn’t happen because you’re wearing the right protection”, said Robin Whitman, marketing manager for Tillman. “Yes, job downtime is important, as well as lost work hours. But keeping people safe, that’s the number one goal. The 1477 is the answer.”

The 1477 combines top-grain goatskin on the palm and fingers with a breathable, safety yellow spandex that keeps hands cool and comfortable. On the palm, there’s a rough-side out, double goatskin layer for a secure grip — while protecting high-stress areas of the hand.

Tillman uses only the finest quality material, known for its exceptional abrasion-resistant properties, with high-tensile strength. An elastic cuff with a hook and loop closure ensures a good fit.

The 1477 offers ANSI A7 (American National Standards Institute) cut-resistance on the palm, back of the hand, and for the fingers, with Para-Aramid lining construction. Para-Aramid is a highly regarded synthetic polymer used to create bulletproof body armor fabric that’s typically found in high-tech military garments and equipment.

A7 is a highly sought after, cut-resistance rating. Plus, the glove has an ANSI Abrasion and Puncture resistant rating of Level 4. Together, the cut, abrasion, and puncture-resistance mean the 1477 gives outstanding performance in environments where sharp materials and surfaces are present. The 1477 can help reduce workplace injuries.

Tillman’s also has an impressive portfolio of MIG, TIG, STICK, and driver’s gloves, as well as high heat, winter, and high-visibility gloves. Tillman’s also known for their full line of fire-resistant garments in leather and cotton, as well as aluminized protective garments. Both for the welding community and beyond, Tillman also provides protective curtains, as well as portable and track-mounted systems.
