Tillman’s welding blankets and curtains are designed to protect and prevent sparks from escaping the designated work area.
The ArcDefender welding blankets, curtains, and pads are available in a variety of rolls and pre-cut sheets. These products are safely used for covering materials or equipment, or as a vertical or horizontal shield to protect objects from sparks, spatter, and slag.
The blankets
Tillman’s welding blankets are intended for use in horizontal applications with light to moderate exposures, such as that resulting from chipping, grinding, heat treating, and light horizontal welding. They offer protection to machinery, preventing ignition of combustibles located in the designated work area.
There are four types, plus customizable options:
- The light-duty fiberglass blankets are available as either coated or non-coated and are designed for light, general-purpose welding for protection against light sparks and minimal spatter.
- The medium-duty blankets are offered in a variety of composites and coatings (on-coated options are also available). These blankets are designed for heavier welding with sparks, spatter, and lighter slag.
- The heavy-duty blankets are made of silica or vermiculite-impregnated fiberglass. These blankets are for use with heavy sparks, spatter, and slag.

The extreme-duty blankets come in a wider and heavier silica or Vertex, with a fiberglass insert. These blankets are for use with heavy sparks, spatter, and slag.
The curtains

Tillman’s welding curtains are intended for use in vertical applications with light to moderate exposure to sparks and heat. They’re designed to prevent sparks from escaping the designated work area. There are several types of curtains offered, including portable welding screens, as well as pre-grommeted, vinyl strip, track-mounted, customized, and replacement welding curtains.
The pads
Tillman’s welding pad is designed for use in horizontal applications and is to be placed directly under a hot work operation such as welding or cutting. Tillman’s welding pad is intended for use in applications with severe exposures such as those resulting from molten substances or heavy horizontal welding.
Tillman offers several types of welding curtains, blankets, and pads with the ability for these to be customized to the dimensions that you require.
