(Southampton, PA) – NewAge® Industries announces Vitube® a new product made from 100% pure Viton. Viton is a high performance synthetic rubber. The tubing offers a wide range of both temperature and chemical resistance and is available in 60 and 75 Shore A durometers. Vitube is used in applications such as appliances, chemical transfer, hot lubrication feeds, o-rings and seals, fuel and oil lines, cable jacketing, exhaust lines, solvent transfer, and peristaltic pumps.
Vitube’s main attribute is its resistance to a wide range of chemicals at elevated temperatures. It will withstand —30°F to 400°F continuously and higher temperatures on an intermittent basis. Vitube is manufactured to handle chemicals such as aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons (carbon tetrachloride, benzene, toluene, and xylene), oils, fuels, lubricants, and mineral acids. Black in color, it works well outdoors in sunlight and ozone.
Vitube possesses the high resiliency of an elastomer as well as the good mechanical properties of conventional synthetic rubbers. The heat and chemical resistance factors, however, go far beyond the range of other rubbers. In fact, it offers one of the widest ranges of fluid and chemical resistance of any commercial rubber. Of the two hardnesses stocked, 60A, also known as Type B, is softer and designed for peristaltic pump use, while 75A (Type A) is used for most other applications.
