Ultrasonic, thru-beam proximity sensors for splice, label, and double sheet detection help detect errors, protect machinery, and avoid waste. Each sensor is 18 mm in diameter and has a teach-in input mode for easy set-up and operation, with a detection threshold that is easily adjustable for individual applications. They provide a sensing range from 20 mm to 60 mm, with an optimum of 45 mm.
They are insensitive to printing, colors, and glossy surfaces. Changes in ambient conditions are compensated for automatically, with high processing speeds possible. The sensors are IP67 protected.
Splice detection systems accurately and reliably detect the presence or absence of glue, splices, bondings, or the absence of base material. Label detectors sense labels and carrier materials, including transparent or metallic labels. Double sheet detectors are an accurate, low-cost method of detecting 0 to 2 sheets of material with weights from 10 g/m2 to 2000 g/m2. They identify mis-feeds of paper, cardboard, thin plastic, foil, and more.
