SolidWorks’ simulation software enables virtual testing, and in order to show its capabilities the company put out a demo that might be just right for breakfast. The “donut drop test” demonstrates the physics test and serves as a primer for SolidWorks. It’s part of a guide that includes a video tutorial on SolidWorks simulation. While they could have chosen any particularly droll example, a jelly donut provides some interesting physics in that the jelly has its own physical characteristics that interact with not just the floor, but the doughy exterior as well.
