VLT Micro Drive

By Kathleen Zipp | May 3, 2007

Share

The VLT Micro Drive is a general purpose drive designed for rugged and reliable, out-of-the-box, plug-and-play control of AC motors up to 3 hp. Later this year, range will be extended through 10 hp.

Suitable for use in industrial appliance, water, and HVAC applications, as well as to OEM machine builders, the drive eliminates an external controller. It also gives side-by-side mounting capability without de-rating because of its compact design.

It comes in cabinet sizes as small as 2.75 in. wide x 6 in. tall x 6 in. deep. Approximately 100 parameters can be set to optimize energy efficiency and operation. A “flying start” feature provides more uptime while an electronic thermal relay eliminates the need for external motor protection.

The VLT Micro Drive also has a smart logic controller, which integrates the drive and motor, allowing users to program the controller to react on virtually any event, often eliminating the need for a PLC.

The drives come in single-phase 200 to 240 Vac: 1/4 to 2 hp; three-phase 200 to 240 Vac: 1/3  to 2 hp; and three-phase 380 to 480 Vac: 1/2 to 3 hp configurations.
