WAGO LUMI-NUTS™ Luminaire Disconnect

By Design World Staff | January 8, 2009

GERMANTOWN, WI
‚–‚– Install fluorescent luminaires with less labor and fewer parts. WAGO Corporation‚’s 873-902 LUMI-NUTS‚â„¢ luminaire disconnect combines the only 20A/600V line-side rating and daisy chaining capability (two conductors per pole) for class-leading installation flexibility. LUMI-NUTS‚â„¢ is the only connector that can loop power from one disconnect to the next for quick and easy wiring of multiple ballasts or multiple fluorescent fixtures ‚— eliminating additional splices, time and labor.

Superior Safety in Compact and Robust Package
The LUMI-NUTS‚’ housing consists of flame retardant (UL94V-0) polyamide 6.6, and is completely touch-safe – whether mated or unmated. Joined by a robust, integral locking latch, both LUMI-NUTS‚’ mating halves are keyed to prevent mis-mating. Color-coding and on-unit inkjet markings provide easy pole identification to simplify wiring. LUMI-NUTS‚â„¢ also provides the simplicity of PUSH WIRE‚® terminations; simply push in the prepared conductor for terminations that are maintenance-free, as well as vibration- and temperature-cycling resistant. The 873-902 LUMI-NUTS‚â„¢ models can fit through a ‚½‚’‚’ knockout.

All LUMI-NUTS‚â„¢ 2- and 3-pole variants meet NEC410.130 (G), CEC30-308 (4) and CSA/UL Standard 2459 for Insulated Multi-Pole Splicing Wire Connectors, ensuring safety for those servicing linear fluorescent fixtures. Power input/line side accommodates AWG #18-12 solid and AWG #16-12 stranded conductors; ballast/load side accepts industry-standard AWG #18 solid conductors.
