This webcast was originally broadcast on Thursday November, 3 2016
This one-hour webinar will review the attributes of aluminum and the extrusion process, and illustrate how they can be leveraged for effective design solutions. It will focus on the three design variables – alloys, part geometry, and fabrication – that make aluminum extrusions a problem solver for product designers and engineers.
What the registrant will learn:
- How key material and process attributes can yield creative product solutions
- Key design variables
- Alloy selection and trade-offs
- Part geometry and tolerancing
- The potential in creative fabrication
- “Real-life” economics of extrusion-based solutions
- Available resources for additional learning
Jason Weber, Director of Business Development Emerging Markets, Sapa Extrusion North America
With over 20 years of experience in the aluminum extrusion industry Weber and his team are responsible for increasing extruded aluminum content, promoting Sapa’s brand, and developing local and global product strategies within the Energy and Industrial Product segments. Weber is a member of the Aluminum Extruders Council with a seat on the AEC’s Board of Directors. He is also leader of the AEC Solar, Electrical, Emerging Markets, Defend (SEED) Team, whose task it is to identify end uses that have growth potential for aluminum extrusions and develop industry messages and platforms to promote the use of extrusions.
