Over four hundred guests, including city officials, customers and vendors, attended the WEG Electric Corp. open house event at the new USA headquarters. The day consisted of comprehensive office and warehouse tours, motor efficiency seminars, catered lunch, and a presentation by the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce President & CEO, Jim Maran, which was immediately followed by the official ribbon cutting ceremony. WEG Brazil President, Harry Schmelzer, and WEG USA President, David Pipes, were also in attendance and spoke during the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Previously located at 1327 Northbrook Parkway, Suwanee, Georgia 30024, the new facility is 250,000 square feet. With 50,000 square feet dedicated to office space, the new building is twice the size of the original location and currently houses 125 employees. All employees from the Suwanee office and those relocated from the Rochester, N.Y. office will occupy the new address.

WEG’s other regional distribution centers, including Harrisburg, Chicago, Houston, Ontario, and Portland, remain available to service customer needs nationwide.

At the new headquarters, WEG has implemented several environmentally friendly procedures, like a company-wide recycling program. Only green chemicals will be used for cleaning the premises, and the use of Styrofoam cups has been eliminated. Additionally, HVAC economizers have been installed on rooftop units and an energy management system has been established to enhance overall energy efficiency.
