The Hilton Head Workshop 2020: A Solid-State Sensors, Actuators and Microsystems Workshop will be held May 31 – June 4, 2020 at the Sonesta Resort on Hilton Head Island, SC.

Occurring biennially since 1984, the Hilton Head Workshop has been an Americas regional meeting restricted to North or South American professionals as well as past attendees of any previous Hilton Head Workshop with verification, not including past commercial representatives. For the first time ever, the 2020 meeting is open to participants worldwide, subject to the criterion that their abstracts must be accepted for meeting attendance.

The workshop attracts 350-500 academic, industry and government participants and is conducted as a single-session meeting. It includes several oral presentations and contributed poster session slots. In addition to the usual broad range of technical topics, the 2020 conference will discuss new microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) devices and technology addressing Grand Challenges and Causes in the areas of:

  • Human Health
  • Climate Change
  • Disaster Resilience

In addition, there are special sessions on:

  • Microsystems Frontiers in the IoT Era
  • Early Career Faculty Development
  • Creating Vibrant Scientific Images

In addition to plenary speakers, HH 2020 will feature four invited MEMS expert speakers who will present work on different areas of grand challenges. A Sunday Workshop/Panel is being planned, as well!

Abstracts and papers are solicited from technical experts on a broad range of technical topics. For interested authors and presenters, the abstract deadline has been extended to: Tuesday, December 17. For more information visit Hilton Head Workshop 2020.
