The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is a bi-national collaboration between the United States and Canada charged with delivering warnings and information should the continent find itself under attack.
NORAD carries the heavy burden of monitoring manmade objects in space, as well as detecting threats and warning government entities about attacks from aircraft, missiles, and other objects.
When there’s a chill in the air, however, the organization becomes better known for a more lighthearted mission – tracking Santa Claus.
NORAD and its predecessor CONAD (Continental Air Defense Command) have tracked Santa’s movements for more than 60 years.
You can follow Santa here.
