Maximum torque is the defining factor in determining the structural integrity of security fasteners, or any kind of fastener for that matter.
This is according to Bryce Fastener, which designs and manufactures custom and specialty fasteners. Ideally, it’s important to attain maximum torque without sacrificing security in fastening applications.
The result? Maximum torque in addition to good security equates to a structurally sound fastener that will be resistant to wrenches, vice grips, side grinders, bits, and vibrations that loosen the fastener over time.
Torx-Pin has been the ideal available fastener for both security and maximum torquing ability, according to Bryce Fastener. However, the mass production of bits in the past decade has made them easily removable, and therefore obsolete.
To this end, Bryce Fastener tested some of the most common security fasteners, including Torx-Pin, and compared them to the company’s security fasteners, which have shows high torque and elite security value.
