Wilkerson introduces WRA302 Compact High Precision Regulator

Wilkerson (www.wilkersoncorp.com) has unveiled the WRA302 regulator, which is specifically designed for applications requiring accurate process control and high capacity in a compact package.

Delivering a control sensitivity of 250 inches (0.63 cm) water column variation, the compact high precision regulator features a compensating diaphragm that protects it against supply pressure changes.

With 100 PSIG, the WRA302 delivers a maximum flow of 40 SCFM, making it ideally suited for use in applications with high flow requirements. It also features an aspirator tube that compensates downstream pressure droop, while an independent Control Chamber effectively eliminates buzzing and hunting by isolating the diaphragm from the main flow.

Using the force balance principal, the regulator controls the movement of the valve assembly, which controls the output pressure. Once the regulator has been adjusted for a particular set point, the Positive Bias Spring’s downward force pulls the Diaphragm Assembly downward. The open Supply Valve enables air to pass through the Outlet Port. Upon reaching the set point, the Positive Bias spring’s downward force is balanced by the upward force coming from the downstream pressure at the bottom of the Diaphragm Assembly. Consequently, the resultant force pushes the supply Valve upward, effectively reducing the air flowing to the Outlet Port.

Meanwhile, the balance between the force coming from the bottom and the top of the Diaphragm Assembly helps maintain outlet pressure.
