The iD Series wire EDM machines quickly and accurately cut wires for the production of orthodontic braces; joint-replacement components; surgical knives, needles, and clamps; and other medical instruments and device components.
They have a thermally insulated cast Meehanite base, increased table travels with no overload hang during table movement, and heavy-duty, 1.26 in. (32 mm) ball screws for the X and Y axes.
The FANUC auto wire feed system (AWF) has an Air Jet wire transport system in the upper annealing pipe that improves accuracy, reliability, and speed. The patent-pending twin-servo wire-tensioning system reduces tension variations. The machine uses standard brass wire. Precision 0.010 in. (0.25 mm) guides are standard, but it accommodate guides for 0.004 to 0.012 in. wire.
