Mike Donati of Beswick Engineering is quick and to the point: “I’ll bet that you, or one of your colleagues, have a requirement for a quick disconnect coupling. Normally that isn’t too difficult to source but—and this is why you drink several cups of coffee and stay late at work—you do not have a ‘normal’ application.”
According to Donati, the real challenge is to find a small dry break quick disconnect that will fit in a tight space and will also provide substantial flow when connected and will prevent liquid or gas from leaking during connection/disconnection.
The solution, he says, is the QDI3L/QDE3L series of dry break quick disconnects … The connected length is less than 2 in. (50.8 mm) with a maximum body dimension of only 9/16 in. (14.3 mm) hexagonal. The QDI3L/QDE3L series is small in size—however, the effective orifice is substantial at 0.180 in. (4.6 mm).
The QDI3L/QDE3L series dry break joins Beswick’s expanding line of miniature quick disconnects, which include:
Single Shut-off
Double Shut-off
High Pressure Bayonet
Multiple Line (4, 6, and 8 lines)
Screw Type & Snap Type
High Flow
