Divelbiss recently introduced the VersaCloud M2M, a complete end-to-end cloud monitoring and control solution. This solution merges hardware, software, communications and cloud services into a seamless, easily deployed control and monitoring system designed for the mobile, industrial, environmental, agricultural and construction markets.
Native support for industry standard protocols such as SAE J1939, NMEA2000 and MODBUS, in addition to hardened I/O, PLC control capabilities and SD card data logging, allow for a high level of flexibility when implementing a multitude of control and monitoring applications.
As part of the complete end-to-end solution, Divelbiss is releasing a spectrum of VersaCloud M2M enabled Controllers and Gateways based on the P-Series PLC on a Chip technology. With options ranging from NEMA 4 sealed enclosures to open-board packaging options, and supporting analog & digital I/O, encoders, PWM outputs, SD Card data logging, real-time clock, RS232/485 serial, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, CAN, GPS, and cellular communications, a device is available for nearly any conceivable application.
All VersaCloud M2M enabled controllers are programmed using the EZ LADDER Toolkit, available at no cost, in Ladder Diagram, Function Block, and Structured Text languages, providing a high level of application capability. If an application has unique I/O, communications or packaging requirements, the P-Series PLC on a Chip allows custom controllers to be developed quickly and easily.
Developed with cellular communications in mind from the beginning, the VersaCloud M2M platform uses a low-overhead industry-standard communications protocol to minimize data usage. This protocol allows sending and receiving messages using a little as 150 bytes of data. In addition to cellular, cloud communications may also be performed over Wi-Fi and Ethernet. Private cellular network and server options are also available.
The platform provides an easy to configure dashboard interface to display current and historical data through drag-and-drop graphical Java widgets. A wide range of widgets are available, such as dial gauges, tank level graphs, bar graphs, line graphs, maps and tables. Custom Java widgets can also be easily implemented. Multiple dashboards are also supported to provide for the hierarchical display of equipment data, allowing the user to “drill-down” to get more granular data for a specific piece of equipment. Email and SMS messages can be automatically generated based on simple to configure event triggers. The VersaCloud M2M platform API also allows the user to export data for off-line analysis or utilization by external software or mobile device app.
