Comcast announced this morning that it had promoted Karen Dougherty Buchholz to senior vice president of administration and Rebecca Arbogast to senior vice president of global public policy. They both report to David Cohen, executive vice president, Comcast.
Buchholz heads up a variety corporate functions for Comcast, including corporate real estate, facilities, aviation, diversity & inclusion, political affairs, corporate services, travel and security.
“Since joining Comcast nearly 14 years ago, Karen has had a phenomenal career at our company, successfully leading numerous large-scale initiatives, including the development and management of our global corporate headquarters in Philadelphia,” Cohen said. “She is highly talented, very well respected in the community and our industry, and will continue to be an integral part of our success as she oversees her multiple functions and the expansion of our vertical campus with the newly announced Comcast Innovation and Technology Center.”
Arbogast is tasked with the development and coordination of the company’s public policy efforts across the corporation.
“Rebecca is an extraordinarily talented thought leader who has done a terrific job heading the combined company’s public policy efforts,” said. Cohen. “Since joining the company, she has contributed wise counsel and invaluable business and industry insight on some of the most important strategic business, legal and regulatory matters impacting Comcast and the media and technology industry. She has been an indispensable member of our Washington office as well as our company and I look forward to working with her over the months and years to come.”
Arbogast holds a law degree from Yale Law School and a master’s degree from the University of Iowa. She has taught constitutional law at Johns Hopkins School of Public Policy and global communications at American University. She clerked for Judge Betty Binns Fletcher on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and was a Fulbright Fellow in European Community Law.
Buchholz received her M.S. from the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Dickinson College and the Dickinson Center for European Studies in Bologna, Italy.
