Elmo Launches Super Compact Servo Drive for 480VAC

By Patrick Curran | March 4, 2015

Elmo Motion Control will introduce at the SIAF exhibition the new “smallest on earth” servo drive that operates directly from the 480VAC at SIAF 2015, Guangzhou, China, on March 9-11, 2015.

Delivering 10A continuous at up to 480VAC with size of only 72mm x 140mm x 110mm makes the G-OBO10/480 the smallest servo drive to deliver >5KW from 480VAC mains connection.

The unique characteristic of using high current loop dynamic range with resolution ratio of 1/2000 enables a huge flexibility and proven to improve dramatically the performance of linear and torque motors operating in demanding high-end applications. Those applications require very high current control for high acceleration rates and low current control for very smooth and slow speed process operations. The current control precision and accuracy is uncompromised in both extreme operating conditions.

The ratings of GOLD OBOE are 13A/270VAC, 3A/480VAC, 10A/480VAC.

The G-OBO is complementary drive to Elmo’s Gold Bassoon (up to 10A/270VAC) and the Gold Tuba (up to 40A/480VAC). Being so small, very efficient and rugged is a huge space saver and allows mounting “anywhere”, in the machine, next to the motor, on the moving load, and thus saving costs of cabling, wiring, electrical cabinets, etc.
