Today Alcatel-Lucent launched the new 9764 Compact Metrocell Outdoor (CMCO). The 9764 CMCO is 50 percent smaller than existing metrocells, providing operators with more options for building HetNets and to improve coverage and capacity, including integrating the device into street furniture, such as the digital advertising signage in bus shelters being developed by partners.
The state of Arizona has selected Sprint to provide a full suite of relay products and Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS) for Arizona residents. Sprint Relay services allow customers who are deaf, hard-of-hearing or speech-disabled to communicate with a hearing person using a personal computer or mobile device. Sprint currently provides relay services in 35 states and exclusively for the federal government, Puerto Rico, New Zealand and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Syniverse today announced a multi-year agreement with Sunrise, a telecommunications provider in Switzerland, to provide its subscribers and visiting roamers with LTE anywhere in the world. The agreement to support Sunrise’s LTE roaming launch includes Syniverse’s interconnected IPX Network Solution and Syniverse Diameter Signaling Service.
ZTE Corporation announced the company signed a cooperation framework agreement with U Mobile Sdn Bhd to expand the operator’s 3G and 4G LTE networks in Malaysia.
