Flomerics Ltd. announced it will showcase EFD.Pro at Pro/User World 2008 in stand number 418. EFD.Pro is the world’s leading Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire-embedded Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software tool and is used by design engineers interested in understanding flow and heat transfer in their products.

Flomerics' EFD.Pro offers fluid flow and heat transfer analysis capabilities inside the Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire environment.

Pro/User World will be held in Long Beach, California from June 1 — 4, 2008. The company will also sponsor a presentation titled “Computational Fluid Dynamics in the Design of Advanced LED-based Lighting Systems” on Monday June 2nd at 12:30 PM. “Manufacturers in the increasingly competitive market sectors such as LEDs understand that cooling of electronics and devices is critical to their long-term reliability” said Travis Mikjaniec M.A.Sc., thermal engineer at Flomerics. “Therefore, our case study will demonstrate how leading-edge companies such as Dialight PLC use CFD and EFD.Pro to handle the thermal transfer mechanisms for both low-brightness and high-brightness products. Seating will be limited so all interested attendees are encouraged to stop by stand 418 to reserve a seat. All attendees will also receive a copy of “Solving the System-Level Thermal Management Challenges of LEDs” whitepaper.

EFD.Pro is embedded into Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire. Therefore it has the same “look and feel” as Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire and fits into the design process without requiring companies to change the way they design products. Engineers are not forced to learn a new environment simply to operate the software and can focus on solving engineering problems. EFD.Pro belongs to a new breed of CFD tools called Engineering Fluid Dynamics (EFD). EFD is based on the same mathematical foundation as traditional CFD software but 7 key technologies set EFD apart, making it quicker and easier to use, more robust and more accurate. EFD.Pro offers comprehensive fluid flow and heat transfer analysis capabilities and offers an integrated interface to Pro/ENGINEER Mechanica to enable users to use heat transfer induced loads for calculating stresses and deformations. The Platinum Partner status is by invitation only and often represents companies that offer the tightest levels of integration with Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire. EFD.Pro is used by best-in-class manufacturers to optimize products within the aerospace, automotive, consumer goods, electronics cooling, HVAC, medical device and valve industries.
