BOSTON — On Tuesday, June 4, 2019, engineers and customers can participate in a free workshop to learn how to use AWS RoboMaker to develop robotics applications. Amazon Web Services will be hosting the AWS RoboMaker Immersion Day here leading into the Robotics Summit & Expo.

In this all-day AWS workshop, attendees can learn about robotics and machine learning within Amazon, get an introduction to working with the Robot Operating System (ROS), and get hands-on experience with RoboMaker. There will even be a team challenge to build a machine vision application and deploy it to a physical robot to complete a mission!

Robotics developers will need some base-level knowledge of working with AWS services and/or ROS, as well as a laptop with an active AWS account with administrative privileges.

The AWS RoboMaker workshop will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at Amazon’s facilities at 27 Melcher Street, Boston, MA 02210. Register now to take part in this free workshop.

AWS and the Robotics Summit

AWS RoboMaker Immersion Day is affiliated with Robotics Summit & Expo 2019, which will be held on June 5-6 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. It is an international event designed for developers of commercial robots, artificial intelligence, and related technologies. It will include industry-leading speakers, workshops, numerous exhibitors, and networking events.

Among the keynote speakers at the Robotics Summit will be Roger Barga, general manager of AWS Robotics and Autonomous Services at Amazon Web Services. He will be addressing “The Role of the Cloud in the Future of Robotics” and how artificial intelligence and machine learning can enhance collaborative, consumer, and personal assistant robot capabilities.
