Humphrey Products’ (www.humphrey-products.com) 153 Series solenoid valve offers a balanced design that features an optimized solenoid and return spring force.
Delivering greater flow capacity in a compact package, the multi-purpose valve can be used as normally open or normally closed valve. Whether the media is vacuum or with a full pressure range from zero to 125 psi, the 153 Series can also be used as a two-way, three-way, selector or diverter valve.
The balanced poppet design of the valve allows it to perform with almost any type of media — air or inert gas, dry, clean, lubricated or even if the media has some airline impurities.
Unlike spool valves and unbalanced valves, the balanced poppet valve is unaffected by media pressure or pressure fluctuations and function or porting choices. It opens large flow path with short stroke and comes with reduced internal friction to overcome. Aside from being compatible with various media, the valves are also impervious to poor media.
With the poppet sealed to the company’s leak tight specifications, the internal forces produced by the pressurized media are neutralized, optimizing the shifting forces of the return spring and the coil.
The balanced design and improved solenoid magnetic circuit of the valve results to significantly greater flow capacity, despite its reduced overall size.
The valve’s porting and media are isolated from the solenoid, while all pneumatic and electric connections are located on opposing surfaces to reduce the total space occupied and simplify connections and mounting during installation.
