Baumer has expanded its VeriSens XC series vision sensor portfolio to include models capable of color identification and inspection. Setup is remarkably simple and reliable with the new Color FEX assistant. The new VGA and 1.2 megapixel models are ideally-suited for automation tasks in packaging, pick and pack, assembly monitoring, product encoding and quality assurance applications.
Historically, the color space (e.g., RGB) has been a significant challenge during setup of color inspection tasks. Color FEX is a new, intelligent assistant for simple and quick setup of 3D color identification and definition. Object colors and their shades are automatically identified and visualized in 3D as color spheres. The resulting absence of sphere collisions ensures reliable color inspection.
In addition to color inspection with Color FEX, these new VeriSens models incorporate the high performance functionality of the XC series such as patented FEX image processor for stable image evaluation at varying light conditions or object colors, integrated flash controller with either 48V or 4A pulse to power and actuate external illumination, and the first configurable web interface. Parameter setting of the VeriSens XC series is simple using the standardized VeriSens Application Suite software.
