The low profile design of PHD Inc.’s (www.phdinc.com) Series GRK Gripper seamlessly combines robust performance and precision while providing moment load capability and exceptional grip force.
For a maximum performance, its high moment capability offers heavier part weight as well as longer jaw tooling lengths. Its ultra-rigid, wear compensating jaw guidance system helps maintain high precision jaw movement over the unit’s entire service life by eliminating jaw ‘freeplay’ and reducing jaw deflection while gripping or moving loads.
Ideal for centering parts of various sizes, the gripper features a true parallel jaw motion which simplifies jaw tooling. Its spring assist presented on open or close, and two-position teachable magnetic switches help make integration and set-up easy and simple.
Aside from delivering large moment capacities, the unit’s low profile and compact design provides high grip performance with low overall weight. Meanwhile, multiple H7-tolerance dowel pin holes are included for precise gripping mounting and alignment of tooling while its rugged composition guarantees longer service life.
The gripper is available in imperial and metric models as well as in four various sizes, with each size is being offered in two grip force/jaw travel combinations. Suitable for both external and internal gripping applications, the GRK Gripper offers manifold porting capability that enables for nested gripper installation.
Moreover, mounting is also provided from the gripper’s front, back, top and bottom. For convenient integration of optional magnetic position sensing switches, the grippers are supplied ‘switch ready’ with inductive proximity switches provided for discrete indication of jaw position.
