Aircraft Engine Maker Chooses ENOVIA Application after Benchmark; Integrated Process Planning, Quality, Requirements Management, and Platform Openness Were Key Success Factors
MONTREAL & VELIZY-VILLACOUBLAY, France–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Regulatory News:
“As with every industry solution experience Dassault Systèmes creates, it is, at the end of the day, about enabling a dramatic improvement in the quality of our customer’s product experience.”
Dassault Systèmes, the 3DEXPERIENCE Company, has announced that Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has selected the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to run its enterprise integrated product management process. A longtime customer of Dassault Systèmes’ design authoring and collaboration applications, P&WC has started “Phase One” of its enterprise PLM evolution. The focus of Phase One is on improving operational excellence, integrated process planning, quality and requirements management.
“In the end, this is about transforming our business and improving our customers’ experience. Every second, a P&WC-powered airplane takes off or lands somewhere in the world and our goal is to ensure the highest quality, best service cost, and overall product value for those customers. Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform fits perfectly into that vision of a quality product and customer experience,” said Walter Di Bartolomeo, vice president, Productivity & Engineering, Pratt & Whitney Canada. “From both an operational perspective, as well as a product value perspective, we see that implementing the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is good for the business. ENOVIA applications give us the ability to be more effective. And that gives us the capacity, capability and affordability to go and reinvest in new products and new services.”
Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform and its associated ENOVIA applications were successfully benchmarked against various other solutions and competitors. The enterprise platform and its openness to Pratt & Whitney Canada’s heterogeneous solution environment, including SAP and Microsoft Dynamics, featured highly in the final decision, as well as Pratt & Whitney Canada’s close working partnership with Dassault Systèmes.
In parallel with Phase One, P&WC has been working to define a blueprint for the next phase of PLM in a true enterprise-wide business transformation.
“We’re excited to be part of P&WC’s successful deployment of Phase One. But that’s just Phase One. We are committed to ensuring the success of ALL future phases in P&WC’s strategic integrated product management process evolution,” said Sylvain Laurent, executive vice president, Business Transformation, Dassault Systèmes.
“3DEXPERIENCE is about addressing complexity, helping our customers, such as Pratt & Whitney Canada, reinvent their business processes and transform the way work is done on a day to day basis. Our 3DEXPERIENCE platform is designed to allow a customer to use its entire set of data throughout enterprise processes, to make the right decisions for its business,” said Monica Menghini, executive vice president, Industry and Marketing, Dassault Systèmes. “As with every industry solution experience Dassault Systèmes creates, it is, at the end of the day, about enabling a dramatic improvement in the quality of our customer’s product experience.”
