A high force-to-size ratio is just one of the many features of Moticont’s GVCM-051-089-02 Linear Voice Coil Actuator with  built-in bearing.  Applying up to 66.4 N (14.9 lbs) of continuous force and 210 N (47.2 lbs) of peak force, this linear voice coil actuator or moving coil actuator features high speed, high acceleration/deceleration, and zero backlash.

It exhibits very high accuracy, and high repeatability if a position sensor is used. This clean, quiet, efficient, low inertia, non-commutated linear actuator features high reliability and is ideal for: Medical devices, work holding and clamping, assembly equipment, testing, sorting, laser machining and drilling, wafer handling, optical focusing, dynamic vibration absorption, scanners, laser beam steering, filtering, and antenna positioning.

This compact linear actuator is 50.8 mm (2.000 in.) in diameter and the total length of the actuator including the 82 mm (3.26 in.) shaft extension is 190.5 mm (7.53 in.).  The diameter of the precision ground shaft is 5.99 mm (0.2360 in.) with a M3X0.5 internal thread. The shaft is supported by a long-life plain bushing and tolerates side loads to 4.4 N (1 lb). The housing and coil end have threaded mounting holes on a 25.4 mm (1.000 in.) bolt circle for easy integration into current and future applications. The Moticont GVCM-051-089-02 Linear Voice Coil Actuator can also be ordered as a complete plug-and-play servo controller electronics.

There are currently 7 series of Moticont’s GVCM motors based on diameter of the actuator, and models based on length of stroke and/or force. Additional motors are also being designed and released to select from.
