A new Kickstarter campaign promises to cook your food perfectly using a new attachment for your stove. You know, just to make it easier to give up on any skill required for self-reliance.
The Meld is a knob that attaches to your gas or electric stove. It senses temperature using the Meld clip, essentially a thermometer that grips the edge of the pot, and it sets the burner’s temperature based off of the recipe stored in the companion app.
The base model is made of plastic, although some commentators stated a preference for stainless steel or anodized aluminum. Right now they’re trying to figure out how to ramp up production that is now three times greater than initial expectations – with 10 days left to go.
The new bag full of money will help fund tooling, pre-production, production sample testing, and the first major production run in September.
