Vishay Intertechnology (Malvern, PA) has introduced a new wet tantalum high-energy capacitor with low maximum ESR down to 0.025 Ω at +25 °C and 1 kHz, and the highest capacitance of any similar device on the market. Manufactured to withstand high stress and hazardous environments, the HE4 features a unique case design for improved reliability and performance in military and aerospace applications. The HE4 utilizes Vishay’s proven SuperTan hybrid cathode technology in combination with industry-leading anode designs to achieve its low ESR. Optimized for energy-storage and pulse-power applications, the device is housed in an all-tantalum, hermetically sealed case featuring a double seal for increased reliability. Features include:
- Capacitance range of 1,100 to 72,000 µF.
- Operates over a temperature range of -55° to +85°C (to +125 °C with voltage derating).
- ± 20 % standard capacitance tolerance at 120 Hz and +25 °C, with tolerances of ± 10 % also available.
