Advantech announced its UNO-430 rugged, waterproof edge intelligence gateway. Designed for use in harsh industrial environments, UNO-430 features all-around IP69K/68-rated ingress protection and M32 and M12 I/O connectors to provide a truly watertight solution that can withstand the most demanding applications. The waterproof enclosure features a front door for easy access and maintenance as well as a cable gland that offers further ingress protection, reducing the need for waterproof cables and wiring. This comprehensive protection also eliminates the need for a waterproof cabinet, allowing customers to use the UNO-430 gateway as a standalone data acquisition gateway. Moreover, with the provision of standard M.2 2230 Wi-Fi and M.2 3052/3042 5G/LTE sockets, the UNO-430 gateway offers expandable wireless connectivity for remote communications and data transfers. To ensure flexible and convenient deployment in diverse usage scenarios, UNO-430 also supports a wide operating temperature range (-40 ~ 70 °C/-40 ~ 158 °F) and input voltage (10 ~ 36 VDC), making it suitable for general outdoor and indoor installations, including at the roadside and in manufacturing sites.
Advantech’s UNO-430 is built to provide a tough high-performance intelligence gateway that can be employed in harsh industrial environments. To ensure optimal operation under extreme conditions, the gateway is IP69K/68 rated for resistance to water and dust ingress. The IP69K rating indicates that UNO-430 can withstand high-pressure and high-temperature wash-downs and steam-cleaning, while the IP68 rating indicates the ability to withstand immersion in water under pressure for long periods, providing sufficient protection in case of exposure to chemicals or bad weather.
UNO-430 is equipped with a cable gland that ensures the protection of electrical equipment by sealing the outer cable sheath and excluding dust and moisture from the enclosure. Additionally, the provision of a cable gland allows customers to use standard cables, providing they can fit into the cable gland. Compared to traditional waterproofing design that requires a pin-to-pin connection to integrate hardware, a cable gland offers greater ease-of-installation and more flexibility for configuration.
With the provision of standard M.2 2230 Wi-Fi and M.2 3052/3042 5G/LTE sockets for integrating Wi-Fi/5G/LTE modules, UNO-430 supports expanding wireless communication for remote data transfers and management. Additionally, customers no longer need to install extensive wiring and lengthy cables around a work site, making the UNO-430 gateway ideal for industries with large-scale factories and outdoor equipment.
