Animatics Corporation to Showcase Products at the SPS/IPC/DRIVES

By Miles Budimir | November 18, 2011

Animatics Corporation, a division of Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B), announced they will showcase their newest motion control systems and products including the Table Top Robot (TTR) and IP-rated SmartMotor™ products at the SPS/IPC/DRIVES tradeshow 2011 (Nov 22-24) in Nuremberg, Germany.

Animatics’ new harsh environment-rated SM23165MT-IP and SM34165MT-IP SmartMotor™ motion controllers with integrated servo drive and motor offer IP65 ratings with the convenience of a smaller frame size, NEMA23 and NEMA34, respectively, for compact applications. The sturdy design and thicker motor casing provides protection and durability. With these new SmartMotors, any factory process using wash-down techniques or wet processing environments can benefit from the easily programmable SmartMotor and its unique features such as Combitronic communication protocol and stand-alone linear interpolation.

Also new to Animatics’ product line is the TTR, consisting of an X, Y (and optional Z) ball screw driven Cartesian system. Each TTR has two (or three) SmartMotors pre-wired through RS-232 serial daisy chain and up to 8000 preset positions per axis and 32Kb of memory per axis. Designed as pre-configured system of components, the TTR is ready to be controlled completely stand alone with user defined downloaded programs.

Visitors to the booth can see the TTR and SmartMotor in action, in addition to multiple examples of the SmartMotor’s advanced motion control capabilities including traverse and take-up winding, on-the-fly phase adjust mode, dual trajectory path generators, advanced gearing and camming capabilities and much more.

Visit the Animatics in Hall 4, booth #180 of the SPS/IPC/DRIVES tradeshow.
