Bold Machines, the new product incubator for Stratasys, has been separated from Stratasys to become its own company headed by Bre Pettis, the founder and former head of MakerBot. Bold Machines has worked with several companies that produce a variety of 3D printed products, such as bionic limbs, architectural modeling components, and tools for animation.
The company will continue to use Stratasys printers: specifically, it will work with the PolyJet, Fortus, Solidscape, and MakerBot printers. Pettis said, “I have built tools that empower other people to build products for the last decade, and I’m excited to jump over the fence and build products myself."
