Line of Industrial Ethernet media converters deliver a reliable, robust data exchange between copper and fiber optic media. They integrate glass fibers into a network while remaining transparent to other network devices. They convert the Ethernet, through an RJ45 port, to an optical port with SC or ST glass fiber connections.
The media converters feature Link Fault Pass-Through (LFP) technology, which employs mechanical relay outputs to alarm on power failure and port breakages on either fiber or Ethernet ports. This LFP feature retains the collision domain between the two Ethernet participants, resulting in a status transparency between the two Ethernet interfaces.
The redundant power inputs allow for more secure connections. The converters can be integrated into the Turbo Ring or Turbo Chain layouts without any extra steps. A high Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of over 401 k hrs, allow for peace of mind in demanding and critical applications. Multimode glass fibers allow distances of up to 5,000 m (16,405 ft) to be bridged without intermediate repeaters. Singlemode glass fibers can be used over distances of up to 40 km (131,234 ft).
They have a temperature range of -40° C to +75° C. Approvals include cULus, GL for marine applications and Hazardous area approvals including ATEX and cULus Class 1 Zone 2.
