A selection of Parker Electromechanical Division motion control products now offer Ethernet Powerlink motionbus technology. These products include the ACR9030 and ACR9040 multi-axis EPL controllers and three power levels of the Aries EPL servo drives.
Ethernet Powerlink is a high-speed, digital motion-bus that connects a motion controller to multiple drives and I/O points using standard Ethernet network hardware. This central, real-time communication system makes Ethernet deterministic for real-time industrial applications. System design and machine installation times are reduced due to the simple, inexpensive and readily available Ethernet cables that replace traditional, expensive analog control and feedback cables.
Industrial packaging markets will benefit from the modular configurations available with the distributed Powerlink architectures, while taking advantage of the system’s EtherNet/IP™ connectivity to the outside world. Medical markets will use these same features to control machinery from a remote location. Semiconductor and electronics industries will take advantage of the central system control, while benefiting from the reliability.
The ACR-View Software Development Kit has been upgraded to configure and program the entire EPL system, including controller, drives and I/O. ACR-View is a project-development suite that assists the user in programming, debugging and commissioning an application.
