ExteNet Systems on Monday officially announced the addition of a high-bandwidth fiber network covering New York City.
The Chicago-area DNS developer completed its acquisition of Axiom Fiber Networks for an undisclosed price and will add its fiber to ExteNet’s existing network in Manhattan. ExteNet officials said that the combined networks will allow the company to meet increased demands for bandwidth and density in the city.
Under the deal, Axiom CEO Felipe Alvarez will join the ExteNet management team and ExteNet will assume responsibility for existing Axiom customers.
“ExteNet has an expansive fiber network in New York City, serving outdoor and in-building customers,” said ExteNet President and CEO Ross Manire. “This acquisition of Axiom Fiber Networks allows us to extend and densify our service footprint in lower Manhattan for the benefit of our customers.”
