Unlike traditional rubber and composite types, Fenner High Torque (FHT) synchronous belts are made from polyurethane. This synthetic material has a cleaner tooth profile, different grades for higher COF and temperatures, and tensile strengths over 1,000 lb.
The belts also have a curvilinear tooth profile, which provides more surface contact with the pulley and more uniformly distributed stress concentration than the typical trapezoidal profile.
