The Feedback System Tester (FST) was designed to quickly and easily diagnose Quadrature Output sensors and sensor cabling problems in Industrial Motion Control Systems reducing valuable time and cost associated with the unnecessary replacement of good sensors. The FST consists of two individual test modes. The cable or harnessing test mode conducts 50 discrete tests to diagnose open and shorted circuits within the cable harness while testing the power supply under load. The sensor test mode powers the sensor and conducts 27 discrete performance measurements. The sensor test mode includes both a static (motionless) and dynamic (sensor in motion) modes to accurately assess the sensors’ performance and viability.
With its rugged design, the FST is designed to hold up in challenging industrial environments. The unit’s housing is created from a light-weight, weather resistant polycarbonate material. The diagnostic tool is self-contained and includes controls, easy to use LED go/no-go display electronics, and batteries.
