Industrial GSM/GPRS Modem

By Kathleen Zipp | May 3, 2007

The Isolated Quad Band OnCell G2150I Industrial GSM/GPRS Modem transmits data and short messages (SMS) over GSM/GPRS mobile networks, with up to 14,400 bps in GSM Circuit-Switch data mode. It operates in the GSM/GPRS quad-band frequency ranges of 900/1800 and 850/1900 MHz and comes equipped with isolated RS-232 or RS-422/485 interfaces, as well as 15 KV surge protection. Isolation of 2.5 KV protects serial ports, making the system safe from ground loop currents.

The modem is designed specifically for demanding industrial-grade applications, including Automatic Meter Reading, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Information Display Panels, and Environmental Monitoring Systems.

The two serial interfaces promote the attachment of other devices, such as stand-alone controllers, PC COM ports, PLC, or multi-dropped electric meters.

SMS Tunnel Mode will be available soon.
