MISUMI USA, Inc. announces the availability of several new Caster designs. The new products are line extensions to the company’s selection of standard and specialized Casters, designed for moving light, medium and heavy loads on carts, wagons, pallets and other transport equipment within commercial and industrial facilities.

Misumi’s new Caster product additions include:

* Economy Casters – Screw-in Types (CMGN and CMGNS) Allowable load is 800-3000N (Industry-wide standard). Ships in three (3) days.

* Economy Casters – Swiveling Locked Type (CMGJV) in a variety of sizes and wheel materials. Allowable load is 800~3000N (Industry-wide standard). Ships in six (6) days.

* Heavy Load Casters – Fixed Type (CSHK). Designed for heavy/super heavy loads. Main body of low carbon steel or trivalent chromate plating, wheel reinforced nylon material. Allowable load is 4000~9000N (Industry-wide standard). Ships in six (6) days.

* Casters with Adjustment Pads – Heavy Load Integrated Type (CGAN). Designed to handle heavy loads, the product features an integrated structure of caster and adjuster to provide superior support and durability. Ships in six (6) days. (For some products, popular sizes are stocked locally and may ship the next day.)

* Casters with Adjustment Pads, Lightweight Type (CMJZ) – a swivel type caster now available with a reinforced nylon body, nylon wheel material and metal (low carbon steel) mounting plate. Ships in six (6) days.

* Casters with Adjustment Pads, Space Saving Type (CMPAD, Swivel Type, and CMPAN, Swivel-Screw Fitting) – are now available in a new size. Both feature a nylon body and nylon wheel material. Ships in six (6) days.

* Casters with Integrated Plate and Adjustment Pads (CAZL) – a new version now available in a variety of sizes and choice of three wheel material options. Ships in six (6) days. (For some products, popular sizes are stocked locally and may ship the next day.)

Caster selection depends upon evaluation of a variety of factors, which are explained in detail in MISUMI’s print and online catalog. Among the key factors are:

* Allowable load, or the limit load that can be transported by human power on a flat surface.
* Caster diameter. In general, the bigger the diameter the easier to transport.

* Wheel material considerations, based on material properties, usage requirements and operational environment. For example:

—–>Rubber wheels are most common because they provide smooth operation and are typically lower in cost. However, they are not oil resistant and may suffer corrosion in oily environments. Black rubber may also stain floors.
—–>Urethane wheels provide higher hardness, smooth movement and greater resistance to oil and abrasion. Will not stain floors.
—–>Nylon wheels offer very high hardness and provides smooth movement. However, they make more noise than rubber or urethane. They may also scratch susceptible floors and be more resistant to movement on rough or uneven floor surfaces.
